    What our travellers are saying...

Fantastic experience. We joined a tour to find Santa in Finland and it was just perfect. The guides (elves!), reindeers, the whole experience was just superb. Obviously our 3 years old daughter was all around the place, but it felt really good for us adults - it spoke to our inner child. Spoiler: we've also found Santa's cabin. Recommended!

We went to Lapland - it is a must! Just the most magical, unforgettable experience with brilliant memories (and fantastic photos) to last a lifetime. My children loved it and I can’t wait to return - hopefully one day with their children.

    Not your usual accommodation Pyhä

All our accommodations are run by local families and businesses, so you know you’re supporting the local community when you travel with us. What the guidebooks don’t tell you

We like to be transparent about our holidays, so with that in mind, here is some information you’d need to consider when booking your getaway!

    How long should I stay?
A stay of 4 to 7 nights in Pyhä is ideal to fully experience its winter offerings. This duration allows time for skiing or snowboarding, trying various winter activities like husky sledding and snowmobiling, and increasing your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Longer stays of up to a week give you the opportunity to explore the Pyhä-Luosto National Park, enjoy relaxing days at your accommodation, and potentially witness the aurora multiple times. Consider mixing your stay between slope-side accommodations and more remote lodgings for a diverse experience.

    How to get there:
Reaching Pyhä involves flying to Rovaniemi Airport, about 170 km away. Regular flights operate from the UK to Rovaniemi via Helsinki with Finnair throughout the winter, with some direct flights available during peak season. From Rovaniemi Airport, pre-arranged transfers to Pyhä take about 1.5 to 2 hours by road. The journey offers beautiful views of the Lapland landscape, setting the mood for your Arctic adventure. Alternatively, you can rent a car at the airport for more flexibility during your stay.

    When to travel:
The winter season in Pyhä typically spans from mid-November to late April. Snowfall usually begins in early November, with reliable snow cover for winter activities by late November. December is perfect for festive family holidays with Santa visits. The entire winter period offers excellent opportunities for family adventures and winter sports. Pyhä’s ski resort is a major draw, with slopes suitable for all levels. Northern Lights viewing is possible throughout the winter, with peak visibility from January to March due to darker skies and clearer weather. For a unique experience, visit during the Polar Night in December and early January when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon, creating a magical twilight atmosphere.
