What you'll do

Overview

Enjoy a fun filled break to Lapland. Get off the beaten track and experience what the Finnish wonderland has to offer, with a husky safari, reindeer farm visit and a meeting with Santa Claus!

Your trip will start with a transfer from Rovaniemi airport to your lakeside cabin in Pyhä. You will have the chance to relax before starting your adventure the next day.

Your trip will begin with a visit to a local reindeer farm, where you will meet the reindeer and  enjoy a taste of the local cuisine at lunch before embarking on the sleigh covered in blankets and take off on safari led by reindeer through the snowy forest to Santa Claus’ secret cottage.

You will visit a Husky farm and learn all about the huskies of Finland, then you’ll have a safety briefing and hop on to the sledge for your safari pulled by huskies through the snow covered landscape and frozen lakes.

Unforgettable experiences – these memories of your Christmas holiday in Lapland will last for ever!

*From price is based on a family of 4 (2 Adults and 2 Children) in a Family Suite travelling between 1st to the 16th December 2024 and the 6th January to the 31st January 2025.

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Arrival

On arrival at Rovaniemi airport you will be greeted by a driver and then transferred to your hotel.

Take some time to relax, take a walk around the village, and enjoy a nice family meal before your adventure really begins tomorrow.

 

Reindeer Farm Visit, Safari and Meet Santa

Start the day off with a breakfast, and get ready to meet Santa himself. A wonderful Christmas experience with only those closest to you.

You will be picked up form you accommodation for your visit to a nearby reindeer farm where you get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures.

After your guided tour, you will snuggle down in the sleigh and be pulled by these gentle animals at a sedate pace, swish through the silent trees and the pure, cold air on your way to Santa Claus’ forest hut, where the whole family will get the chance to meet Santa himself. You will be able to ask him questions, learn about life in Finland and all the traditions associated with Christmas festivities. You can show him your Christmas list for a moment none of the family will forget.

You will enjoy lunch in a traditional Finnish Hut.

After your day of adventure, you will be taken back to your hotel where you will have some time to relax before dinner.

 

Husky Farm and Safari

Today after a delicious buffet breakfast you will visit a local husky farm where you’ll learn all about huskies and just how important they are to the Finnish people.

One of the mushers will guide you around the farm, where you can meet the huskies and learn how the mushers use them to pull a sledge as well as hearing stories about the dogs and their characters. You’ll embark on a 5km husky ride where you can use your newly learned mushing skills to guide the dogs. These beautiful, energetic dogs will take you on a tour of the incredible landscape and you’ll get to spend time interacting with these affectionate animals.

You will then return to the hotel where you will have dinner and have some time to relax by the fire or perhaps take a  sauna.

 

Departure Day

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred back to Rovaniemi Airport to catch your flight home, taking with you life long memories of your magical time in Lapland.

Each spacious suite has its own sauna, ensuite bathroom, smart TV, wifi, an open kitchen with a hob, oven and microwave, deck and views of the lake and fells and a main room containing a queen size bed.

Within the premium suite there is a separate bedroom which has a queen size bed.
Some of the beds are possible to split into two separate beds - please request this at the time of enquiring if needed.

Location

Your accommodation is located in Pyhä which is a 90 minute drive from Rovaniemi Airport, in Pyhä-Luosto National Park. There are a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants within the area.

Are there shops, bars, restaurants nearby?

Yes there are a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants located within a 5 minute drive of the resort.

Will warm outerwear be provided?

Yes you will be provided with overalls and boots on arrival for the duration of your stay.

Please remember to bring your own gloves and hat.

What are the child ages?

Child ages are 3 -12.

Please notify us if you are bringing an infant 2 years old and under. They're welcome free of charge, but the host must be notified.

Is the Santa visit available all winter?

Yes, even if you can't make the trip in December Santa can be visited January through to March.

Are all the activities suitable for children?

Husky safari : one adult will drive the sledge - this adult must be aged 18 years old and over. Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, children under 4 years old cannot take part in the husky safari.

Our host can arrange to split the group for activities to assist with childcare, so everyone gets the opportunity to experience each activity.

What are the food options?

Breakfast is a buffet, serving warm and cold options.

Lunch will be soup and bread or spaghetti and meatballs.

Dinner is from the la carte menu which consists of a 3 course dinner.

The reception will inform you the specific times upon arrival and if you have dietary requirement or require a children's, vegetarian meal please let them know in advance.

What is the difference between the suites?

The family suite has a separate room with bunk beds.

The premium suite has a separate room with a double bed.

The superior suite has a separate room with a double bed. as well as a sofa bed for the 5th person
