What you'll do

Overview

Enjoy a fun filled break to Lapland. Get off the beaten track and experience what the Finnish wonderland has to offer, with a husky safari, snowmobile adventure. Get the chance to tick viewing the Northern Lights off your bucket list and finish the trip by indulging in a truly relaxing lakeside sauna experience.

Your trip will start with a transfer from Rovaniemi airport to your lakeside cabin in Pyhä. You will have the chance to relax before starting your adventure the next day.

You will visit a Husky farm and learn all about the huskies of Finland, then you’ll have a safety briefing and hop on to the sledge for your safari pulled by huskies through the snow covered landscape and frozen lakes. Experience an exciting adventure riding a snowmobile through the snow covered forest before venturing into the Wilderness with your guide in search of the Northern Lights by Car.

End your trip with 90 minutes of bliss in our lakeside sauna and jacuzzi, enjoying stunning views and an invigorating winter ice dip.

A full example itinerary is detailed below, activity timings can differ slightly, your own personal schedule will be given to you upon check in.

Arrival

On arrival at Rovaniemi airport you will be greeted by a driver and then transferred to your hotel.

Take some time to relax, take a walk around the village, and enjoy a nice family meal before your adventure really begins tomorrow.

 

Husky Farm and Safari

Today after a delicious buffet breakfast you will visit a local husky farm where you’ll learn all about huskies and just how important they are to the Finnish people.

One of the mushers will guide you around the farm, where you can meet the huskies and learn how the mushers use them to pull a sledge as well as hearing stories about the dogs and their characters. You’ll embark on a 10km husky ride where you can use your newly learned mushing skills to guide the dogs. These beautiful, energetic dogs will take you on a tour of the incredible landscape and you’ll get to spend time interacting with these affectionate animals.

You will then return to the hotel where you will have dinner and have some time to relax by the fire or perhaps take a sauna.

 

Snowmobile Adventure and Northern Lights Hunting by Car

After breakfast, you will embark on an exciting 2 hour snowmobile ride around the snow covered forests of Luosto.

Your expert guide will help you get the hang of your snowmobile, then lead you on a stunning adventure around the part of the world that is one of Europe’s last remaining wild places.

The journey will be broken up to make a fire and enjoy warm drinks and snacks next to a frozen river. Afterwards you will venture back to your accommodation for lunch.

This evening, after dark you will you go on the hunt for the Northern Lights, this a natural phenomenon is a once in a lifetime experience.

You will venture onto the wilderness with your guide and relax in the dark wintery open area in middle of nowhere providing the best opportunity to see the Northern Lights with no light pollution, enjoy the warmth of the fire with a hot drink and snack whilst listening to stories about this wonderful polar light show, we will also learn to photograph the northern lights.

We can’t always guarantee that you will see them due to weather conditions but your local guides will try their hardest to find them for you.

 

Lakeside Sauna Experience

Today, after breakfast enjoy your last day in the snowy surroundings and indulge in this serene lakeside escape!

Relax in our beautifully designed lake sauna and jacuzzi for 90 minutes of pure bliss. The sauna, offers stunning views through its large windows. The unique drop-design jacuzzi, is the ideal spot to warm up on a chilly day. Then take a refreshing, exhilarating dip in the 3-meter wide ice hole before escaping back to the sauna or jacuzzi!

 

 

Departure Day

After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred back to Rovaniemi Airport to catch your flight home, taking with you life long memories of your magical time in Lapland.

Each spacious suite has its own sauna, ensuite bathroom, smart TV, wifi, an open kitchen with a hob, oven and microwave, deck and views of the lake and fells and a main room containing a queen size bed.

Within the premium suite there is a separate bedroom which has a queen size bed. Some of the beds are possible to split into two separate beds - please request this at the time of enquiring if needed.

Family Suite

Your accommodation is located in Pyhä which is a 90 minute drive from Rovaniemi Airport, in Pyhä-Luosto National Park. There are a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants within the area.

Will warm outerwear be provided?

Yes you will be provided with overalls and boots on arrival for the duration of your stay.

Please remember to bring your own gloves and hat.

Yes there are a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants located within a 5 minute drive of the resort.

What are the child ages?

Child ages are 3 -12.

Please notify us if you are bringing an infant 2 years old and under. They're welcome free of charge, but the host must be notified.

What is the difference between the suites?

The family suite has a separate room with bunk beds.

The premium suite has a separate room with a double bed.

The superior suite has a separate room with a double bed. as well as a sofa bed for the 5th person

What are the food options?

Breakfast is a buffet, serving warm and cold options.

Lunch will be soup and bread or spaghetti and meatballs.

Dinner is from the la carte menu which consists of a 3 course dinner.

The reception will inform you the specific times upon arrival and if you have dietary requirement or require a children's, vegetarian meal please let them know in advance.

Do I need a driving license and insurance to drive the Snowmobiles?

​Please note that the driver of the snowmobile must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s licence with him/her when taking part in the snowmobile safari.

Insurance is excluded from the experience.

Insurance cover maybe required and must be paid on the day of the experience.
