Your memorable day will take place in a local’s kitchen at the high peaks of the White Mountains where you’ll cook some of the most beloved Cretan dishes. You’ll really get the flavours of the island as you cook with extra-virgin olive oil, fresh vegetables hand-picked from the garden, locally bread, meat and dairy products, and the most aromatic of herbs. The main course will consist of the traditional ‘gemista’ (tomatoes and other vegetables stuffed with herbed rice)a delicious regional favourite that both vegetarians and meat-eaters love!
Next, you will be served aromatic Cretan wine, complemented with a variety of local cheeses, whist experiencing an exquisite view of the Cretan mountains. After your cheese and wine break, it’s time to whip up some traditional appetisers, such as ‘dakos’, ‘tzatziki’ and Cretan cheese-pies ‘kaltsounia’. Afterwards, relax, taste your own creations accompanied by more local wine and traditional fruit preserves for dessert.
