Kefalonia is in the Ionian Sea, west of mainland Greece and is marked by sandy coves and dry rugged landscapes. Its capital, Argostoli, is built on a hillside overlooking the narrow harbour.
Over the next eight days, you will spend your time on this island paradise not simply lying on the beach (although there will be plenty of time for that), but also discovering authentic Greek culture and cuisine, and getting off the beaten track to places many tourists would miss entirely.
You’ll visit the small, offbeat village of Kourouklata, where you’ll get to experience first-hand what local life in the village is like, and enjoy the warmth and hospitality of the locals with a feast made entirely with local produce.
Enjoy a day cruising the ionian sea that takes in magical caves, lagoons, beaches and harbours crowded with atmospheric tavernas and fishing boats, on a day trip that’ll show you the very best of Kefalonia and allow you to enjoy that quintessential Greek activity of cruising around on boats.
With plenty of time to relax, head to the beach or simply read your book by the pool, this Greek island holiday is perfect for anyone on the hunt for a week to recharge, with some unique, local activities thrown in.
