Lapland

Born and raised in Finland,  for the last twenty five years Markku has been been offering authentic, immersive experiences in the region of Lapland. Originally, working  with his sister as operations manager for her tour company. So, finding and planning trips and experiences has equipped him with a vast knowledge of the area and the opportunities for visitors.

Markku is keenly interested in photography and getting out into nature. He never tires of watching the Northern Lights and has over 200,000 pictures of the Aurora Borealis, many of which have been  published publications across the world. So it was a natural progression to want to introduce visitors to our amazing natural landscape and the Northern Lights, and to show them how they can capture the beauty of the skies themselves. Markku’s short photography workshops are  extremely popular, they are run out in the field, where both experienced and novice photographers can the best way to capture the beauty of the dark arctic sky’s natural phenomenon.

From this point onwards, Markku’s business expanded and began offering other authentic experiences; husky adventures,  reindeer encounters, meeting a traditional lappish families. And the rest they say is history…
