What you'll do

Overview

Enjoy a self drive experience through Namibia for the next 8 days and experience some of Namibia’s most incredible natural masterpieces. These include the world’s highest sand dunes in Sossusvlei and the charming coastal town of Swakopmund. Of course, no African trip is complete without a wildlife safari experience in TimBila Nature Reserve.

Few countries in Africa can match Namibia’s sheer natural beauty. The country’s name derives from its (and the world’s) oldest desert, the Namib, and there are few more incredible desert expanses on planet earth. From the sand sea and perfect dead-tree valleys at Sossusvlei, to your own David Attenborough safari wildlife moments.

Tour Summary:

Day 2 & 3: Sossusvlei
Day 4 & 5: Swakopmund

Appropriate for this vast country with its epic landscapes, Sossusvlei still manages to feel isolated. The dunes appear other-worldly at times, especially when the light hits them near sunrise or sunset. They cover 32,000-sq-km of sand sea which covers much of the region and tower as high as 325m, forming part of one of the oldest and driest ecosystems on earth.

Spend time in TimBila Nature Reserve which is a 33,500 hectare reserve located about 60 km from Omaruru, bordering north of Erindi. A dream safari destination in a unique way where lions, elephants, African wild dogs and white and black rhinos now roam free on the wild expanses.

But let us not forget about the charming cities of Swakopmund with its quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, adventure options, laid-back feel and cool sea breeze. Or Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, which is encircled by magnificent mountains, expansive valleys, fertile farmlands, lodges, and luxury guest farms. Namibia it the perfect bucket-list destination for photographers, animal lover and adventures paradise.
