What you'll do

Overview

Enjoy an magical Christmas Market break in Warsaw. Experience the Christmas culture and traditions soak up the festive atmosphere sample traditional Christmas food and drinks and get to see some of the real Warsaw.

You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your city centre hotel to start your Christmas markets break.  After taking some time to settle in and freshen up, your guide will meet you for a relaxed stroll around the wonderful Warsaw Christmas market, full of stalls selling traditional Polish festive foods and drinks, gifts and decorations. You will learn about the culture and traditions around Christmas in Poland, sample some of the wonderful local delicacies and perhaps pick up a few souvenirs.

The next day will start with a tour in a vintage Fiat car, reminiscent of the communist era, and you will take a journey back in time to Warsaw’s Old Town. Your fun and knowledgeable local guide tell you all about the history of the city and at the end of your tours you’ll will take part in a 2 hour gingerbread baking class to learn how to bake, decorate and store “pierniczki” as well as learning how to turn gingerbreads into Christmas tree decorations.

Your last full day will be a day at leisure for you to revisit the market or to discover more of this vibrant city on your own , or you could choose to take an optional excursions. It’s your choice.

Arrival and Christmas Market

On your arrival at Warsaw airport you will be met and taken by private transfer to your city centre hotel.

Once you have had a chance to settle in your local guide will meet you and you will take a leisurely walk around the vibrant magical Chirstmas market. The marke has an array of stalls selling traditional festive food and drinks, trinkets, gifts and decorations. You will get to try grilled Oscypek (smoked sheep’s cheese from the Polish mountains) accompanied by a cup of delicious warming mulled wine. Learn about Polish Christmas traditions and perhaps buy some souvenirs to take home. Immerse yourself in the festive season the traditional polish way!

Spend the evening at your leisure ,continue to browse the market or try one of the many bars and restaurants of this wonderful city.

Old Town Vintage Car Tour and Gingerbread Making

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up in a vintage Fiat 125p or Nysa and your  guide will take you on a journey back in time. You will tour around the Old Town of Warsaw taking a walk around this magnificent UNESCO world heritage site. You will learn about how it was almost completely destroyed in the second world war and about the buildings that survived. You will see the Royal Castle Square and admire the beauty of the  churches, parks and palaces along the Royal Route, before ending at the Polish Vodka Museum where you will learn about the origins, traditions and culture of Vodka throughout Poland’s history, and get to taste some too!

In the afternoon feel the magic of Christmas and take part in the gingerbread baking class to learn how to bake, decorate and store “piermiczki”. You will learn how to make your own gingerbread spice mix. Last, but not least, you will find out how to turn gingerbread cookies into beautiful Christmas decorations or unforgettable presents for your beloved ones. Class is 2 hours, includes taski9ng and a lot of gingerbread to take home.

Today, enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then you have the day at leisure to return to the market or to explore more of this wonderful city in its Chrismas splendour.

Today is your departure day from vibrant festive warsaw, and after breakfast at your hotel you will be collected for your  transfer to the airport and your flight home, taking with you some wonderful memories of this lovely city and possibly a suitcase full of christmas souvenirs!
