What you'll do

Wander through lanes of peeling, pastel-coloured facades, up winding staircases and cobbled alleys on this private walking tour of Lisbon's downtown and old districts, to discover the genuine, authentic Lisbon.

Your guide will meet you at a time and location suited to you, before taking you to visit the famous Baixa district, the city’s historic centre. This area is made up of majestic plazas, wide avenues lined with traditional seafood restaurants and vibrant bars, and it’s where you’ll get the opportunity to try Lisbon’s most famous export, the Pastel de Nata, from a local bakery.

You’ll also explore Rossio and the iconic squares of Praça da Figueira and Praça do Comércio, all the while uncovering the tumultuous history of Lisbon, the local secrets and traditions from your local guide.

After visiting the glamorous Chiado, the neighbourhood known for its Bohemian character and trendy bars as well as being the shopping mecca of Lisbon, you’ll be taken on the tram to Alfama, an experience essential to getting a taste of the true Lisbon.

In Alfama, a winding labyrinth of cobbled streets and narrow alleys, enjoy the magical atmosphere as fado music drifts from one of the generations-old restaurants, as we leave you here to enjoy the rest of your day free to explore this wonderful part of the city.

Of course, your guide will be happy to give you any recommendations to get the best out of your stay, with the help of their vital local insight.

Pedro Urgel

Born and raised in the delightful city of Porto, apart from a two year stint living in Scotland in my younger days, I have lived in Portugal all my life. When I was around 35, myself and a couple of my travelling friends (one of which is my brother), decided to set up our company. We set out scouting Portugal, visiting the places no one visits, meeting people, exploring landscapes discovering all these authentic towns. We know the country like the back of our hands, so when you go on one of our experiences you get an experts insight and learn so much more than you would visiting alone.
