What you'll do

Overview

This luxury retreat is perfect for anyone looking to get out of the city and explore the stunning national park of Snowdonia on guided hikes through the mountains, as well as relax and unwind with professional yoga and meditation sessions.

Once you arrive at the elegant country home that acts as your accommodation for the weekend you’ll be able to totally relax, unwind and head out to explore the stunning wilderness, the brooding peaks and deep corries of Snowdonia, as well as the windswept coastline and secluded beaches of Anglesey, on a number of guided hikes.

Each day you will discover new trails through the mountains that have been used by the locals for hundreds of years, but are still far enough of the tourist trail to feel as if you’re hiking through genuine wilderness and far from the beaten track.

You’ll also be able to re-energise with professional yoga and meditation classes, during a yoga retreat designed to rejuvenate and re-nourish mind and body.

Head out for the great outdoors, drink in the magical scenery and enjoy the clean, fresh mountain and sea air, and return home feeling thoroughly satisfied and reinvigorated.

The Location:
The stunning Isle of Anglesey hosts miles of coastline with trails, expansive beaches, quiet coves, picturesque towns and views to the mountains of Snowdonia National Park. Menai Bridge, the nearest town to the venue, is an easy ten minute stroll, and boasts an array of independent shops, vegan cafes and restaurants. The town overlooks the Menai Strait, a spectacular body of water with small islands sprinkled throughout, and is named after the impressive Menai Suspension Bridge that spans the island of Anglesey and the mainland. It’s all here to be explored and enjoyed.

The Venue:
The retreat takes place in a stylish, secluded country house on the Isle of Anglesey, nestled in 21 acres of private parkland, which gathers together for your pleasure; stunning views over Snowdon, a meandering river, magical waterfalls, world renowned historic gardens, lazy meadows, mature woodland and an oak framed building perfect for your yoga sessions.

The Yoga Space:
The Yoga Space, stroll through the walled garden, and majestic wooden gates to the oak framed building. With its lovingly hand crafted oak beams, high ceilings and underfloor heating, it makes the ideal space for yoga and mediation practice. Bask in the rising sunlight during morning yoga and then enjoy settling down into candle lit relaxations in the evening. With the peace and tranquility of the surrounding parkland, it is your sanctuary from the outside world.

The Food:
Healthy eating is an integral part of the retreat experience and three nourishing plant based meals are provided each day, which are low in sugar and dairy free, plus herbal teas, fruit and healthy afternoon snacks. Please let us know of any intolerances when you book so that we can accommodate these.

Holistic Treatments:
There will be plenty of time to indulge in a body treatment or two with one on our superb in house therapists. Offer a range of massage treatments, from Indian head and Swedish full body, to Tui Na (a Chinese massage similar to Shiatsu). Our therapists use organic therapeutic oils to ease away your stresses and strains. Each treatment is £65 for 45 minutes.

Laura Bell

Laura landed into yoga quite literally after being thrown out of a boat in Australia 11 years ago and landing with a broken back. After 3 months of rehabilitation, she was able to walk again but was told her passion of running was no longer an option and that yoga would be the best form of exercise to aid her recovery. As she started to practise yoga as a way to keep her back strong and pain free, her love of yoga was born. After training with David Swenson in Ashtanga yoga a new yogic way of life flourished.

From teaching weekly classes and workshops she soon realised that she wanted to give her students more. It was then that her retreats were born. She found a stunning location, taught the yoga, led the group on coastal walks and with the help of her mum cooked the meals. It was very much a family affair, with her sister helping out and carrying out the massages. But demand for the retreats grew and now have a team of like minded, caring women running the retreats throughout the year. Laura is still very much involved in the running of the retreats and will often be there to help set up, sometimes with a baby or toddler in tow!

What our travellers are saying...

Amazing weekend! Magnificent yoga with the Wonderful Claire in the most beautiful of settings. Everyone so friendly and welcoming, food was also outstanding. The hidden Gardens are just a big bonus and the SUP was an experience I can’t wait to do again. The whole package was brilliant and one I’m sure my daughter and I will be repeating soon!
