Yoga Holidays

There’s something about escaping to a quiet, offbeat corner of the world, and joining a yoga holiday where you take the time to truly reconnect with yourself, escape from the rush of modern life and the monotony of routine, and sink into a zen world of calm.

With yoga retreats as far flung as Costa Rica, Morocco, the hills of Italy or the rugged rural coastlines of Portugal, there are so many ways for yogis to escape to stunning locations and enjoy a recharging, rejuvenating break on a yoga holiday to remember, alongside other, like-minded travellers.

Alternatively, with yoga breaks across the UK in places like Anglesey, the Lake District and Cornwall, Not In The Guidebooks offers more convenient alternatives for those who just need the yoga equivalent of a quick power nap. What all our yoga holidays have in common is the way they get you off the beaten track, in touch with the local people and the local landscape, and far from the maddening crowd so that you can truly relax.

    What is a yoga holiday?

A yoga holiday with Not In The Guidebooks essentially involves choosing your destination, before setting off to a beautiful retreat where you will be led by expert local coaches on yoga and wellness experiences every day, designed to help you improve your yoga and feel truly relaxed.

Besides this, many of our yoga breaks allow you to indulge in your passion, hobby, or try something new, as you combine yoga with activities such as horse riding, surfing, learning the local language, wild swimming, and more.

The majority of our yoga holidays see you joining groups of other, like-minded travellers who set out in the world looking for new, authentic experiences and a holiday that strays from the norm, and gets you to the heart of a local culture.

What is common of all our yoga retreats is that they put you in touch with the locals, so that you can experience the very best of a destination thanks to the expertise and knowledge that your host has of their home. They will take you on cultural excursions, cook you authentic dishes or tell you the best places to visit in your free time, or simply provide recommendations on how to live the local way.

Who goes on our yoga holidays?

Fitness buffs to those who have never been keen on exercise, yogis to Pilates enthusiasts – everyone is welcome in the studios, gyms and homes of our yoga hosts.

You’ll meet people of all ages and nationalities, from solo travellers to couples to friends. Some are escaping the madness of their 9-to-5 lives, others are simply looking for a new type of holiday. Others still have never lifted a dumbbell or executed a Warrior II pose, while some just want a holiday with a bit of exercise, plenty of beach time and a glass of wine.

All that’s required is a passion for relaxation, a desire to be your best self and a refusal to be boxed in.

Is this you? It looks like you. Come and join them.
