Activity Holidays in Cyprus

Overview

Although Cyprus is characterised by pristine white stretches of beach and clear, azure, Mediterranean waters, it only takes a little digging to discover an island of fascinating culture and heritage, rugged little mountainside towns, and countless ancient treasures from long lost civilisations.

The richly vaired landscape and history is refelcted in the food scene, with Middle-Eastern, Turkish and Greek influences making for incredible Meze, as you eat your way through the island’s dishes such as sheftalia, afelia, rich hummus and halloumi dishes.

    Best Time to Visit Cyprus

    General

Peak Season, June-Aug. Temperatures between 25°C and 30°C. More tourists mean prices are higher and crowds larger. Beaches are especially popular at this time.

Shoulder Season, May-July & Sep-Oct. The weather is still lovely and warm, but fewer tourists mean lower prices and fewer crowds, this is a great time to visit!

Low Season, Nov-April. Prices at their lowest and fewer crowds mean easy access to popular sites.  The temperature is around 17°C in the day so still not bad.

    Top tips for visiting Cyprus

Tipping – Though not mandatory, it is considered polite to tip anywhere between 5% and 10%, and tipping with cash is preferred.

Order a mezze – For all the foodies, ordering mezze is the best way to sample lots of the amazing food Cyprus has to offer.

Learn hello in Greek & Turkish – Hello is ‘Yassas’ in Greek and ‘Selam’ in Turkish, using the right one is a great way to connect with locals.

Accept gifts – If a local tries to offer you a bite or a drink in a safe place, saying no can sometimes be seen as impolite, so try to say yes!
