Activity Holidays in Namibia

Overview

Activity holidays in Namibia can feel like an adventure to a new world, it is the perfect place to get off-the-beaten track and see something unique and immerse yourself in African culture.

Not only is it a wildlife haven for lions, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, elephants and countless other creatures that roam the vast plains of the Kalahari or Etosha National Park, but it’s also one of the most strikingly beautiful countries on Earth. Haunting visions of skeletal shipwrecks along stretches of abandoned Atlantic coastline conjure up an otherworldly feel, whilst a jagged spine of mountains leads to lush grass and wetlands that teem with life.

Throw in the wise, warm locals, an encounter with whom can outshine even Namibia’s jaw-dropping landscapes, and you’re left with a country that will have you dreaming of a return from the moment you land back home.

“Namibia steals your heart and after leaving you have the constant itch to visit again!… There is always something new to amaze me.” – Rannveig, our local host.

    Best Time to Visit Namibia

    General

Peak season, July-October. The weather around this time is between 20-25°C, with colder nights. This is the busiest time, so prices may be higher and larger crowds.

Shoulder season, April-June & November. A little warmer, between 20-28°C, while sporadic rainfall means the plants start coming to life, prices are a little lower too.

Low season, December-March. A few more showers now and the flora is in full swing. Temperatures are high too, between 30-40°C.

    Top tips for visiting Namibia

Carry cash – While cards are accepted in urban areas and larger lodges, cash is useful for smaller towns and markets.

Respect the sun – The sun in Namibia can be very intense and you should prepare to be out in it for large parts of the day.

Be mindful of your water use – Namibia is one of the driest countries in the world, so try not to use more water than you need to.

Prepare for cold nights – though the days are warm, the temperature can drop quite a bit at night, so prepare to warm yourself up.
